According to Wikipedia, Hoax is fake news or false news that contains information that is actually not true, but is made as if it were true. Hoax can be oral or written. Oral hoax are usually spread by word of mouth, while written hoax are spread through wa groups or other social media platforms. In addition, Hoax can trigger divisions, both between individual and between certain groups. Then, what trigger the spread of hoax news spread?

First of all, people prioritize the contents of the article rather than the source. A study from Stanford University shows young people, especially teenagers or students, assess the truth of the news from detailed content such as the number and size of photos, length of articles, and others. This research was conducted on 7,840 students from various backgrounds. Respondents were asked to provide an evaluation of the intended news content. The results of the study stated that young people prioritize the content of articles rather than news sources. This is the reason why young people are very wide range of hoax news.
If you believe the sentence above, then you prioritize the contents rather than source. But if you still don't believe it, you will find out the source of the news.

Second, many people like to share, but are lazy to read it before sharing it. Just read the title, instead of continuing reading but hastily sharing it because of its high social sense. Not forgetting the sentence, "The beauty of sharing." Based on the study of "Most Littered Nation in the World" conducted by Central Connecticut State University in March 2016, Indonesian was ranked 60 out of 61 countries about reading interest. This proves that hoax news is very easy and vulnerable to spread and is trusted by countries with low reading interest.

Finally, too worried threatened danger will occur. According to Laras Sekarasih, PhD, a lecturer in Media Psychology from the University of Indonesia, in general hoax have the power to change and strengthen the attitudes or perceptions that a person has of something. It could be disagreement with certain policies, certain people, certain groups, and vice versa. Negative hoax information can cause excessive anxiety. This makes it easy for people to easily share the hoax because they want to avoid bad rights from happening. Instead of avoiding problems, it makes news hoax even more widespread even more throughout the world.

So, be a careful person. Read the news before sharing, and look for accurate information before believing. Remember, hoax must be eradicated!
